What is Voyagers of Nera?

A cooperative survival-crafting game where you must survive a magical ocean world brimming with lost spirits and deadly monsters. Sail to distant islands, build beautiful villages and surf across the waves with up to 10 players.

How do I host a Voyagers of Nera Multiplayer Server?

Running a Voyagers of Nera dedicated server on your own requires several components.

System Requirements

  • Windows 10/11 or Windows Server (Linux not supported)
  • 8-16GB of RAM (16GB recommended for 10 players)
  • 20GB of Diskspace
  • Steam copy of Voyagers of Nera (required to connect)
  • Port forwarding capability on your router

Required Components

  • SteamCMD - Valve's command-line Steam client
  • Voyagers of Nera Dedicated Server - Free server files (App ID available Sept 16)
  • Visual C++ Redistributables - Required for Unreal Engine 5

Installation

  • Download SteamCMD from Valve's website
  • Extract SteamCMD to a folder like C:\steamcmd
  • Open Command Prompt and navigate to your SteamCMD folder
  • Run: steamcmd +login anonymous +force_install_dir C:\VoyagersServer +app_update [SERVER_APP_ID] validate +quit
  • Note: The dedicated server App ID will be available at launch on September 16, 2025
  • Install the latest Visual C++ Redistributables from Microsoft

Configuring the Server

  • Navigate to the server installation directory
  • Edit the configuration files (typically in Config/ or Saved/Config/)
  • Set the following options:
    ServerName=My Voyagers Server
    MaxPlayers=10
    ServerPassword=YourPassword
    AutoSaveInterval=300
    GatheringRateMultiplier=1.0
  • Forward port 7777 (UDP) and 27015 (UDP) on your router
  • Configure Windows Firewall to allow VoyagersServer.exe

Starting the Server

  • Create a start.bat file with: VoyagersServer.exe -log -server -port=7777
  • Run the batch file to start your server
  • Share your public IP address with friends (find it at whatismyipaddress.com)
  • Server will appear in the in-game server browser if configured correctly

Joining a Server

  • Launch Voyagers of Nera through Steam
  • Navigate to Multiplayer in the main menu
  • Browse for servers or use Direct Connect
  • Enter the server IP:port (e.g., 123.45.67.89:7777)
  • Enter password if required and join!

Troubleshooting

  • If players can't connect, verify port forwarding is configured correctly
  • Check Windows Firewall isn't blocking VoyagersServer.exe
  • Ensure all Visual C++ Redistributables are installed
  • Monitor server logs in Saved/Logs for error messages
  • Verify the server has enough RAM allocated (check Task Manager)
